Arjun Dixit (Sunny Deol) is a simple man working as college professor in Haridwar. He is a peace loving person. But, peace vanishes from his life after Nisha (Juhi Chawla), a city girl, comes to Haridwar to research the origins of Sanskrit. She challenges his stand on non-violence when she sees him walk away from a local criminal (Shahbaaz Khan) who has harassed her a lot. Arjun takes up the challenge and after a fight, ends up killing him. But, in jail Nisha meets him and informs that her main motive of coming in Haridwar was to see him behind the bar which is fulfilled. Shocked Arjun escapes from Haridwar and lands in Bombay, changing from the non-violent Arjun Dixit to the gangster Arjun Pandit. He searches for Nisha to know the reason of her statement.
