Pradhan (Anupam Kher) is a retired headmaster who lives with his wife (Rohini Hattangady). Their son living in New York dies and the aged couple lose their only support in life. They rent one of the rooms in their home to Suman (Soni Razdan) and get quite close to her. Suman is in love with Vilas and has an affair with him after being promised marriage. She gets pregnant but Vilas gets cold feet and does not want to marry her any more as his father, politician Gajanan, disapproves of the match. Pradhan goes to Gajanan to plead Suman's case and is thrown out of his home with a threat. Gajanan's thugs continue to harass Pradhan, his wife and Suman. The police refuse to register their complaint. Watch the film to see what Pradhan does to bring peace into their lives.
