Manorama (Padmini Kolhapure); is the pampered daughter of a rich royal family, the head of this family is Thakur (Shammi Kapoor). She is taken care of and all her demands, however unreasonable, are met with. Deodhar (Rishi Kapoor) is a poor orphan in the village, who is able to pursue his further studies in the city only with Thakur's help. Deodhar and Manorama have been childhood friends. When Deodhar returns after completeing his studies, he finds that Manorama is now beautiful girl, and falls in love with her. He is not able to confess his affection due to the apparent class distinction between them. Manorama, innocent and child-like always treats Deodhar as her child-hood friend. Manorama is engaged to get married to the handsome and rich Kumar Narendra Pratap Singh (Vijayendra Ghatge). Soon she is married and leaves for her husband’s house. With hopes that Manorama would be happy with her new life Deodhar bids her a bitter silent farewell. Would Manorama get the happiness she deserves?
