Raj Malhotra (Amitabh Bachchan) is a middle class man living with his wife Pooja (Hema Malini) and their four sons Ajay (Aman Verma), Sanjay (Samir Soni), Rohit (Saahil Chadda), and Karan (Nasir Khan). They have also adopted an orphan as their son Alok (Salman Khan) who is now studying in Abroad. Raj and Pooja have raised their sons, all well settled in their lives, with utmost care. But equations change when Raj retires from his bank job. None of the four sons are ready to take their parents' responsibility. The sons work out a strategy: The father would live with the eldest (Aman), the mother with the second son (Samir). And after six months elapse, they would shift to the third and fourth sons [Sahil, Nasir]. Raj and Pooja, who love each other dearly, are separated in their old age…During this separation period Raj writes his own story with the title of Baghbaan. After some months Alok who returns from abroad takes them with him to his house. Finally Raj’s book gets published and he earns a lot of money. Knowing their father has again become a wealthy man their four sons return back to them. Will Raj accept them again?
