Durga Bhatnagar (Aruna Irani) is a dominating house wife who lives with her husband Dashrath (Prem Chopra) and three sons Laxman (Laxmikant Berde), Ram (Ashok Sharaf) and Bharat (Govinda). Dugra Devi desires a grandson to continue the family lineage and her last hope is Bharat as her other two sons are father of daughters.Bharat marries Priya (Rambha), and his friend Mulayamchand alias Mullu (Johny Lever) also marries at the same time. Bharat and Mullu’s respective wives are admitted into the same maternity ward where Aruna is admitted due to heart attack. Mullu becomes proud father of a baby boy, on the other hand Priya delivers a baby girl. Seeing Mullu’s boy in Bharat’s hands he thinks that Priya has delivered a boy and informs the same to his wife. Bharat and Mullu hide the truth from her with the fear of her health being in danger again. Now, Bharat cannot disclose the truth to his family and Mullu cannot claim his own son. How long will they hide this truth?
