    India’s national symbol, the Tiger is the largest living big cat. It is on the edge of extinction. The skins and bones of tigers are being widely and illegally traded. India launched one of the world’s most effective conservation programs, Project Tiger. Yet the large-scale poaching is occurring. Worse, the big cats are vanishing in ever-increasing numbers, even from the country’s guarded reserves.
